In an effort to bolster its status as a leading hub for international innovation and technology, Hong Kong is working to strengthen its partnership with Saudi Arabia. This strategic move was highlighted during a recent meeting between Hong Kong’s Chief Executive, John Lee, and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Abdullah Alswaha.

The dialogue between the two leaders coincided with the LEAP East technology exhibition, which was hosted in Hong Kong for the first time, marking its debut outside the Middle East. The event attracted numerous speakers and exhibitors from across the globe, showcasing the increasing collaboration within the international technology sector.

Chief Executive Lee emphasized that hosting this significant event not only reflects the deepening ties between Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia but also reinforces Hong Kong’s strategic role as a conduit for international businesses aiming to penetrate Asian markets. He extended an invitation to Saudi companies, entrepreneurs, and technology experts, encouraging them to leverage Hong Kong as a launchpad for expanding their operations in Asia.

The meeting underscored a mutual commitment from both parties to enhance economic and technological collaboration. Both Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia are eager to explore new avenues for a long-lasting partnership, with particular focus on the realms of innovation, technology, and investment.
