During a recent official visit to the Maldives, Saudi Minister of State Prince Dr. Mansour bin Mutaib bin Abdulaziz engaged in discussions with Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. The visit coincided with the celebrations marking the 61st anniversary of the Maldives’ independence, underscoring the enduring and strong bilateral ties between Saudi Arabia and the Maldives.
Prince Mansour’s participation in the independence anniversary events highlighted the significance of diplomatic relations between the two nations. This interaction provided an opportunity for both countries to reaffirm their commitment to strengthening their partnership across various sectors.
Upon his arrival, Prince Mansour was greeted at Velana International Airport by key Maldivian officials, including Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel and Mohamed Naseer, the Principal Secretary to the President on Foreign Relations. The Saudi Ambassador to the Maldives, Yahya Hassan Al-Qahtani, was also present to welcome the Prince, reflecting the mutual respect and cooperation that marks the relationship between the two countries.
The meeting between Prince Mansour and President Muizzu served as a platform to discuss avenues for further collaboration and to celebrate the historical ties shared by Saudi Arabia and the Maldives.
