Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani communicated this condemnation to Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan during a phone conversation. They also explored regional developments and diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions and preserving stability in the area.
The Houthi attacks struck various locations, including Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran, resulting in injuries to 73 civilians, among them women and children. Additionally, some energy facilities suffered temporary disruptions. Qatar has labeled these attacks as a significant escalation and a breach of Saudi sovereignty, as well as international law. The Qatari government urged the international community to adopt a firmer stance against these assaults and to back the enforcement of pertinent United Nations Security Council resolutions related to Yemen and the security of the Red Sea.
