by admin477351

In a bid to enhance cultural and knowledge-based collaboration, Saudi Arabia and France are exploring deeper cooperation in the library sector. Discussions between Libraries Commission CEO Abdulrahman Al-Asem and French Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Patrick Maisonnave took place in Riyadh, focusing on expanding efforts in digital preservation, knowledge exchange, and professional training.

The key topic of conversation was an executive program involving the Saudi Libraries Commission and the National Library of France. This initiative aims to digitize library materials, facilitate the exchange of electronic copies, develop comprehensive digital collections, and provide specialized training for library professionals.

As part of their collaborative efforts, both nations are also looking ahead to joint projects planned for 2026. These projects are intended to further strengthen the cultural ties and knowledge-sharing capabilities between Saudi Arabia and France, enriching the library sector in both countries.
